Latest OTA update ruined my texting

Since the latest update (which I did OTA or over the air), texting with my phone is annoying. Even though the boxes are unchecked, the haptic feedback and key tones when the buttons are pressed while texting will NOT SHUT OFF. The newest issue is that now the vibration when receiving a text will NOT SHUT OFF even though the box is unchecked just like the others.

I've done everything I can think of, every tip and trick I've found online, and everything every person at Samsung (all 6 of them) have told me to do. I've tried everything from reset and cache wipe, to hard reset (removing the battery), to the full factory reset I just did last night which actually caused the new text vibration issue. SO yeah, the factory reset made it even worse than it was. The people at Samsung told me it would need to be sent in which could take up to two weeks to get it back to me! I can't go two weeks without a phone and this one is my only one. I'm out of ideas and options. I didn't get the extended warranty or whatever it is from Verizon, and it's past the ridiculous 14 day return date or whatever it is. I got the phone back in October and never had a problem with it until this last update.

Even though I know nothing will help, any new ideas?

Was the haptic feedback and tone turned off from the keyboard settings or just the sounds settings in the phone?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

There are two separate places for the sound and vibration.  For the first one do the following:

Touch Menu

Select Settings

Touch Sound

Under the System heading there are a few setting that you can adjust (Keytones, Touch Sounds, Screen Lock Sounds and Haptic Feedback).  Personally the ones that I have checked are Keytones (provides sounds when dialing a number) and Screen Lock Sounds (provides the sound affects when I lock or Unlock the phone).  I also have the Auto haptic turned off.

Here is the second:

Touch Menu

Select settings

Select Language and input

Touch the little gear at the end of Samsung keyboard

Touch Advanced

Uncheck the last two settings (Key-tap vibration and Key-tap sound)  (this will turn off the sound and vibration while you are texting)

If what you're typing disappears, you need to download another keyboard. Anyone you like. I downloaded from the market free SwiftKey. So far so good. No disappearing texts since.
