I'm confused...are you using the visual voicemail or standard *86 voicemail?
Visual voicemail - no need for a keypad as you can "see" the messages, scroll through to listen, delete, call back - all via the visual voicemail interface.
If you are dialing in via *86, the keypad is there - pull the phone away and toggle the screen on to use speakerphone and the keypad. (If you don't see it right away, tap the icon with the ten dots to bring up the keypad).

TheDroidster,
Keypad access should be the least of your phone worries. Many phones don't have a qwerty keyboard and the keypad should be accessible. When did the trouble with your keypad begin? Are you able to access keypad to send a text message?

I know how important it is to have a working VM service, TheDroidster. Just to make sure are you using the standard VM service or the Visual Voicemail service?

TheDroidster,
Having that keypad is a must. Let’s get you working again. If you are on speakerphone, can you access the keypad? If you are not on speaker, can you see the keypad when you move away from your face? Do you have a new case or anything on device?

Using voicemail via *86. When asked to enter your pin, toggling to the keypad does not work. Tapping the icon with the ten dots to bring up the keypad does NOT work. Help.

Hello, NUCL3AR. We are very sorry to hear about the issue that has come up when checking your voicemail using the *86 method. We will be more than happy to make sure that you can check your voicemails in addition to making sure that your keypad is working correctly. Can you please describe what is happening that tells you that the keypad is not working when checking your voicemail? What is the make and model of the device that you have? BrettA_VZW

My keypad will not come up on voicemail. This I can't enter the numeric password to reach my voicemail. The icon for the keypad is there but when I press it it just puts a white bubble around the icon, no keypad comes up. I'm on an old Nexus 6 but this just started happening a day ago.

That is interesting. I am having the same issue on my Nexus 6P (Huawei). I tap the voicemail notification, voicemail prompts me to input my pin. The keypad icon is highlighted, but no keyboard. Speaker on or off. Doesn't matter. Tried blocking the ear sensor, blank out the screen, unblock the sensor and the screen comes back. Still no keyboard. Deselect and reselect keyboard, no help. Turn off the phone, then back on. No help. Checked my settings, but couldn't find anything relative the keypad ding this. I started having the urge to drill a hole through the keyboard icon, but figured it wouldn't help.
Anyone have any ideas?

Have the same issue with Nexsus 6. And, have tried rebooting the phone as well. The keypad blinks once when pressed, but no keypad ever appears. It's likely have to do with some recent updates?
Surely, it looks like a bug on software . Can't even check my vm without having it work.
Is this a new trick to get people to sign ip for visial vm?

Griffs86Dart, we are disheartened to learn that you are also experiencing an issue with your voicemail, but I am happy to assist with determining how we can resolve this. Does the issue with the keyboard not showing up only happening when you attempt to use the visual voicemail or when you use any application on your device? How long has this issue been going on for? What happens when you try to call your voicemail by dialing *86?

Jehman, we always want everything to work for you. We are here to help.
Researching this issue, we see that others with the Nexus 6 phone recently started having the same issue you describe. Most of them were able to check for an update to the Phone app with the Play Store, and that corrected the issue.
Others Reset the Phone app on their phone to get it to work properly as well https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-145584/

TheDroister, we will figure this out. Are you in Visual VoiceMail? When you are going through the message, is there a button that says keypad?
