Just wondering if it might be at all possible for one of moderators to consolidate all the 2.2 Froyo threads into one? They seem to be junking up the board.
Not trying to be offensive here to those who are dissatisfied with the lack of the update, just saying that it would be nice if we could come to the board and not have so many NEW threads about one particular topic.
ladybell If all the threads were consolidated into one then would the moderator have to do that for all subjects on this forum? Hopefully soon after April 1st we won't have to post information about the official froyo release because then we will have it! If not, expect to see ongoing topics about the lack of froyo for the fascinate. Remember, one person's junk is another's treasure!
Actually it would be great if all related topics were consolidated. I'm all for fair on that one. Do you really think come April 2 you will magically get what you seek?

Going by their track record probably not but you never know. More than likely when enough pressure is applied or they are embarrassed into it, hopefully within the first two weeks of April 2011.
if you think there are alot of 2.2 threads you shoulda seen the "wheres my iphone" set.
oh nad i bet 75% of the 2.2 are being started by the smae person with multiple accounts
Ok yeah that is funny regarding the "where's my iphone" I read ALLOT of those two. Guess it might not be an option to get them to consolidate.

While I am not a moderator, I can suggest this. If you feel a post is offensive or duplicate content, you can always use the "report inappropriate content" link to alert the moderators. Then you can write a reason why you see the need to report the post or thread.
As long as there is no name calling or foul language it should not be offensive. You can't say something is offensive just because you disagree with someone's opinion. As for duplicate content, check the forum, there are duplicate thoughts or content for just about every topic covered.
If any moderator deletes a member's post because others are tired of hearing about a certain topic or because verizon is trying to cover their butt, then the moderator is prejudiced and should be removed and given a job with much less authority!
Dad-Bill. Not saying they should delete your posts regarding your legitatmate complaints regarding froyo, but consolidation of these would be handy. I agree they shouldn't delete them as we all have our rights to expression on the forum but it could be cleaned up some is all. I would assume that it could also be done for related issues for media, facebook notifications and many other duplicated threads as well.
ladybell there seems to be a problem with who determines if a post is legitimate. Certainly the one writing the post feels it is legitimate! Grouping all threads pertaining to one topic could be good. What happens when one posting covers more than one topic, duplicate posts in different areas?
Considering that half of the threads on the main page are whining about Froyo, it makes it kind of hard to weed out the **bleep** and actually find people with legitimate questions. It's almost as bad as the iPhone forum prior to launch with a billion "omg verizon won't let me upgrade"
Oh don't worry Dad-Bill. They aren't going to group anything. Heck they can't do anything. They can't update your phone. They can't give accurate information in there stores based on all these posts and threads. Based on what we all read in the forums, they can't tell the truth. They can't keep all the loyal customers updated on changes they can actually use. They can't help you with your media link to them because they can't give you the Froyo you need to use it. They can't notify you if you are excessively exceeding your plan limitations (saw that $18,000 tab noted on the Today show this morning). They can't really give you 4G. They can bill you for it of course I hear. Their hands are tied dear. Post away. You're right see, they can only keep you from saying foul things to one another because somehow they know what to look for regarding tacky and poor choices of words. Good luck with your Face Book April Fool whatever thingy it is you have planned.
Maybe by April 2, 2011, this whole thing will be magically fixed. I have to go play with my phone now. LOL It's just all very laughable. Thanks for all the elightenment Paul-D.
ladybell very glad that we can bring some laughter into your life! It really doesn't matter to me if they group topics together or not, I have no preference. I see you've been doing your homework. You are correct with most of your cant's and some of your can's.

it's not going to happen. it's a peer to peer forum so people are free to come here and simply complain if they like. my suggestion would be to bump the unanswered (real) issues to the top so as to keep them on page one. once a thread goes to page 2, it rarely gets attention. if anyone really wants to helps the users that are having trouble completing a task, etc....then you could always bump their thread in an effort to keep those on page one. the users that simply want to complain about froyo will find their old thread or continue to start new ones. and it is the same with all of the forums. check the incredible from last may-july. it was just pages and pages of "where's my phone?" and these were threads by people who ordered the phone, knowing it was 3 weeks backordered. just like many of these froyo threads are people who bought the fascinate, knowing that froyo has been out since last summer and that the fascinate does not have it. and ditto the iphone comment. that board was a nightmare during launch week. the best way to make them die down is to ignore the threads you have no interest in.
