Marshmallow Bluetooth Problems

Recent Marshmallow update has created an issue with synching to my Toyota Tundra Bluetooth. Voicemails play for only 5 seconds, then it disconnects. My music, or, stored voicemails begin playing upon vehicle start-up. My battery wears down quickly. The last Marshmallow update and the issues with Bluetooth that persisted for about three months before a patch had been created to fix the issue(s).

Being hands free while driving is a must. Let’s look into this. Have you removed the device from the vehicle then re paired? That would be the first step, then test. Here’s the pairing guide, just in case: http://vz.to/1Qi0DeE.

Additionally, it’s normal for your battery to optimize after a software update. So, the fact that the battery is draining quickly can be expected, but no worries, it will adjust to the new software.

I have already attempted to remove the device from the vehicle Bluetooth, removed the vehicle Bluetooth from the device and then reinstalled them both. The technician at the Verizon store also tried the same. He also attempted to do the same using his device with the same results.

We want your Bluetooth working with your vehicle like it worked before. Unfortunately, we are just your wireless provider and we don't have control over Bluetooth connectivity due to both devices needs to be up to par with the updates.

Let me help point you in the right direction. The vehicle manufacturers are usually responsible to get both devices connected especially when it's their specialized Bluetooth device application (in this case it's Entune by Toyota) that needs to be paired with your Bluetooth device. Have you reached out to their service technician yet?

Thank you for your response, but unfortunately there is no Bluetooth upgrade for the most recent Marshmallow upgrade. This is exactly the same feedback I got from the Verizon Store, this time and the last time this occurred, which is unacceptable as far as I’m concerned. If you can better enlighten me as to how this is Toyota’s Bluetooth responsibility, if Verizon upgraded a phone which made it incompatible with my truck’s equipment… still confused.

I am becoming increasingly agitated to say the least and will report this issue to our Telecommunications Analyst & Manager at Jackson Family Enterprises for their input.

Please let me know if your position changes, so I can make the necessary changes from my end to get the system up and functioning by another carrier.
