My phone xoes not prompt for Wi-Fi when at home

Ask and you shall receive. Connecting to WiFi is the best way to save on your packaged data. Here are your steps:
From you home screen go to Apps; Settings; Wireless and Networks; WiFi; be sure that the show WiFi pop up is enabled.

someplace in the above instructions, you should also have a choice to "auto select" your wi-fi when in range.
