My GS4 won't recognize my bluetooth speaker

I have a wireless speaker that I used with my previous smartphone (LG). I've been trying to pair this device with my new GS4 and the GS4 doesn't recognize it.....only the other computer downstairs.

Has anyone had a problem with this and does anyone have any correction suggestions?

My husband just purchased a Bose Soundlink that works fine with our iPad and my Galaxy SIII. But with his Galaxy 4S, the Bose doesn't show up as an available bluetooth device.
