My S3 is still running 4.0.4

When I try to update to something better it says to check for system updates, go to settings, about device when service is available.  My service IS available!  I've tried from multiple places and have even been in to my Verizon store.  What can I do??

Do you check for updates when connected to a strong 4G signal?

Yes. It was even tried when it was on WiFi at the store. No one had any solutions. They basically told me to just wait. 😕

What happens when you try to update your software? Does it tell you that your up to date or does it give you an error message?

I get an error message that says service unavailable...To check for system updates, go to Settings, about device when service is available.

My build number is IMM76D.I535VRALG7

Thank you for the details jenny2711! We want you to enjoy the new software update and regret to hear that its not allowing you to update to it. Have you tried to hard reset the device? First, we want to make sure that contacts are backed up with Google contacts (www.google.com/contacts) or with the Backup Assistant. Pictures should be saved on an SD card. Here is how to reset the device: http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/59267/ . Once you fully reset, set the device as new and attempt to download the software again. The update may not be available right away. You may receive a notification to update to it within 2-3 days.

Let us know if the issue persists. We can then assist with alternate options.
