I worked thru the verizonwireless troubleshooting guide to no avail. Rebooting the phone seems to help for a little while. I have plenty of memory and I can't pinpoint an app that may be bogging it down. I have no screen protector on the phone. The android version is 5.1.1.

No one wants to have trouble with a brand new phone, vanblar! I'm so sorry this is happening. May I ask how long you've owned your new S6? Please try starting the phone in Safe Mode, and see if the touch screen improves. http://spr.ly/6581BcViF;

The touch screen does seem to work better in safe mode. I would rather not keep my phone in safe mode all the time. I have installed the latest android (marshmellow). I have factory reset the phone. After a restart the phone will work ok for an hour or two. I have had the phone for about 5 weeks. –Rich 814 404 9989

Updates are supposed to enhance the device not hinder you from being able to use it. After you did the download, did you update the applications that you have downloaded on your phone?

I updated to Android 6. Then I factory reset the phone. This did not seem to undo the firmware update. I stopped in at a Verizon store. The phone passed some diagnostic tests. Unfortunately I could not recreate much of the problem while in the store.

Hmm. Lets take a closer look. Does it occur after using a particular app? From the sounds it, it may be app related or in relation to the RAM. If the RAM is full you may experience similar issues. To assist with RAM, I suggest closing apps that are not currently in use.
