So  I call Verizon and they tell me oh this is a new problem and this is the first time I heard of this problem I respond that its all over your community board and its a very big issue. there awnser  is a hard restart  and I said this is unacceptable  so next they try tp upgrade me to a edge plan and a new phone.   total bull    Verizon pushed a update that is not sound   and now they push it to the consumer????   they responded that the updates come from Samsung and has NOTHING to do with verizon .

Well that offer that sprint has been emailing me to come back to them  is very tempting now. if I am starting all over with a "clean" phone I might as well look into a new carrier if there offer is better   right ?

thing annoying me is the   tech support  manual of trouble shooting    they "know " of an issue  but  they awnser is a wipe the phone

A lot of very weird behavior is often fixed by a Factory Data Reset, especially following an update. That generally IS the proper procedure, but as Android users, we haven't really been told this is often necessary, and so it's a hard pill to swallow.

But in the case of some of the issues with your recent update, people have determined FDRs do not work for everyone's phone.

So it is sad, you'd think, the CSRs would have access to the latest information for each device. Likely however, they don't have the time nor the staffing unless you get to the next higher level of support.

So I talked to Samsung since  I will not accept that Verizon is saying I need to do a phone reset to "test" the update to see if that is the problem.  Samsung said they can reflash the update  on the phone to see if that fixes it

the only good thing I can say that might come out of this is  because of the lack of Verizon customer support it cause me to look at other avenuse and  I can get a better deal with sprint   20gigs for 100.00 and they are willing to wave the 15.00 per line fee and they are willing to discount the new phone to get me to switch back to them so  at the end of they day   Verizon might lose another customer  account over "support"
