New Galaxy S4 sends but does not receive SMS

I traded in an iPhone 4 yesterday and bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4 and have it all set up excet for one thing: It does not receive text messages.

It sends them, but doesn't receive.

I need to get this working immediately if not sooner as my work often depends on text messages.

I went to Apple and unregistered by old iPhone but that has not helped.

What am I missing here/

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that your new device is not working properly. We definitely want you to have a great experience with a new phone. So to confirm, you have no issues sending both standard and picture messages? A good way to check messaging service is to try and send a text to yourself directly. If you receive it from yourself then that would show the server is working. Also, since you previously had an iPhone I am glad that you unregistered it. You would want to make sure that the iMessage feature was turned off before doing so. Lastly, try to remove and reinsert your 4G sim card to do a refresh. Keep us updated if you see any improvement.
