Just upgraded from a Samsung Charge to the Galaxy S3 5 days ago. I have not dropped it nor has it been jammed in my pocket. While using my fingernail to open a link, the top of the glass screen cracked. Local Verizon store says too bad. I have been with verizon for years. Does anyone know how to reach someone who cares at Verizon? Thanks

Unfortunately, Verizon deems a cracked screen, of any sort, a sign of physical damage and, therefore, a voided warranty.

I am sure everyone at VZW will care about the fact you have a new phone with a cracked screen but I am sure they will also all deem it as physical damage and will tell you your choices are to purchase a new phone at the month to month pricing schedule. If they have any they can also sell you a refurbished phone. You can also call Samsung about getting the screen replaced or you can maybe find someone in your local community which can accomplish the task.

Teefer, of course we care and I'm sad to see that this happened to your new phone. Is this an external crack, meaning that you can feel the crack on the outside display? We want to make sure that you avoid any additional charges. If we were to send this phone to our warehouse and it was determined to be physical damage, you would be charged $299 for the replacement. If you have insurance, you can make a claim at phoneclaim.com/verizon. You can also contact Samsung at 888-987-4357 for repair options.
