I just purchased a brand new S4 Mini, which I got yesterday. Last night I didn't seem to have any issues, however today the phone has been just awful. It disconnects from WiFi randomly, and when it does the only way to reconnect it is to restart the phone because it will then show the WiFi network as "Out of Range" even though it's not. And when it IS connected to the WiFi, it is constantly scanning, which is draining the battery.
The bigger issue that I'm having right now is that text messages are taking FOREVER to go through. I sent a text message at 7:24, but it didn't actually SEND until 7:50! That person responded to me at 8:06 (I looked it up on my usage log) but I didn't receive the text message until 8:26! I also spoke to a friend who told me she sent two text messages that I didn't get at all! I can see them in the usage log, but my phone never received them. I've shut down the phone a number of times, and it didn't help. It's brand new, so this shouldn't be happening! The battery is being drained very, very fast between trying to send texts for 30 minutes straight and scanning for WiFi every 30 seconds.
This phone is on version 4.2.2

I'm sorry your having such a frustrating time with the S3 mini. Let's work together and get to the bottom of this. I appreciate your detailed post describing what issues your having.
Did this start after an application was downloaded? Have you downloaded a antivirus or battery saver application? What zip code are you in?

Does this issue persist in safe mode?
