Note 20 Ultra Random restarts

My Note 20 Ultra recently began randomly restarting.  It has done it at least 8 times in the past week. Any ideas why, and remedies?

To check, you'll go to Settings -- System Updates -- Check for system updates. Since this problem has been happening, have you downloaded any new apps to your phone? -Alicia

I have this same phone and same problem. It started after the last Android update. I"m on version 12 now. I never had this problem before I went from 11 to 12. Can i rollback to 11? 

 

My software update page says 
Software updated to N986USQU2FVEB

Your Phone has been updated to the latest software version. 

It still continues to restart randomly, even when it is just sitting on the charger untouched.

With software, there is no way to reverse back to an older versions.

Mine has been restarting too since the last update about once a day.  Happens when charging and off the charger.  Auto reboot is turned off and when checking the log for reboots, it doesn't list any reboots.  Cleared the cache and the issue remains.  Very frustrating for it will sometimes reboot in the middle of the night and I miss my alarm.

My last software upgrade was on 06/21/2022 and my phone is up to date. This problem has started occurring more consistently this week for me. It has restarted for the last 3 days without prompt, full battery, while the screen was locked sitting on my desk.

I understand that this is frustrating for you. The software updates are pushed from the manufacturer. It sounds like ther is an issue with the update, but it could be something else not compatible. Did you install any apps recently or around when this started?

I love that everyone is reporting the same issue yet we are all being asked what we have changed on our phones and if we have added any new apps.

 

The answer is no for all of us.   No new apps other than your software update in June which has not created the issue of random restarts that inconvienence all of the users, including myself.

I am havin the exact same issue with restarts that only started after the latest Verizon Update: N986USQU2FVEB

 

I had ZERO issues before, is Verizon releasing a new update to fix this?

Dolores are you reading posts??? This is affecting tons of NOTE users after latest software update, is Verizon planning to release a fix????????

Thank you for reaching out to us tonight. I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the My Verizon app. If you are having an issue with the Verizon update, this should help tremendously.

My husband and mother in law both have Note 20 Ultra and both have had the same issue for a while now. My mother in law's phone is on Sprint/T-Mobile though, so it's probably a Samsung issue.

The Note 20 Ultra device is a good phone Stewart-Locke16. I'm sorry to hear you, your husband and your mother-in-law all have issues with this device. It may be a Samsung issue but we always like to go through troubleshooting steps to help with your issue. Have you checked the software on your device to make sure its up to date? Did the issue start to happen after downloading a specific app? If so, I always recommend removing that app temporarily to test out the phone?  Send us a private message with details.

This is not just a Samsung issue. We have 2 Samsung phones and 2 Motorola phones and they all random restart. It happens even when I'm on a phone call.
