Verizon Samsung Note 4 (SM-N910V) - Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow)

Will Marshmallow ever arrive for the Verizon Note 4? Probably but they are taking way too long.

Sprint does a better job than Verizon http://www.mobipicker.com/sprint-rolls-android-6-0-1-marshmallow-update-samsung-galaxy-note-4/

but the update still arrives much later than Nexus.

Any suggestions for how to get Verizon to speed up deployment of the newer OS?

Perhaps dumping the Verizon bloatware and running native Android?

How have you solved this problem? Installed Cyanogen?

Maybe Sprint does or doesn't do a better job, but users over there are fussing just the same.

Can we know an aproximate date for the update for the Galaxy note 4? today was just release for the S6 i'd really like that you can proof that Verizon is the best Carrier by simply releasing the update before April 10th.

the sprint variant only go screen write and expanded spen app but not much else some changes to app look and better battery usage but no themes or other things like the note 5 but any update will work better 5.1.1 lollipop..

You take a great deal of care, eh? Is it going to be like the great deal of care given to the Android 5.0(.1) update? How about the minor, but obvious bugs in 5.1.1?

I'm done with Samsung phones and Verizon. My next phone will be a Nexus. The Marshmallow update fiasco for the Note 4 killed any interest I have in the new S7. It's almost made me want to switch back to an iPhone...hmmmm not really.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm going to miss my stylus very much, but with security threats on the rise and accelerating, I feel it's important to be able to get updates in a timely manner. We are still waiting for M while N will be released later this summer. Fail.

I am in total agreement with everyone's frustrations of Verizon's failure to update the Note 4 to Marshmallow. Quite frankly, I do not think that Verizon has any intention of updating the Note 4. Marshmallow was introduced in October of 2015, Verizon pushed the update to the Note 5 & S6 in February, and other carriers pushed out the update last year therefore I very much doubt that Verizon will update the Note 4. Not sure why they won't update unless they rather us purchase the Note 6 and lock us in for another two years.

I found the Link above on the Sammobile Website. Considering all the Run around it describes for an update to get to a phone, I am now extremely serious about getting a Nexus 6p or it's Successor when my Contract is up in October.

Like most, I've been with Verizon for quite some time. The android update fiasco is ridiculous to say the least. We as consumers pay good money for the devices we have when they come out. I myself, will not be duped into the scheme of get the latest and greatest just so I can have the newest Android OS. Receiving the latest OS months, sometimes a year after it is released by both Google and Samsung is completely and totally unacceptable. Verizon wants to blame it on Samsung, Samsung will blame it on Verizon. The truth is that it is you, Verizon who are holding the update with your "soak test" getting it "perfected" with the Verizon bloatware, most of which we loathe anyway. It was released internationally and locally with ALL other carriers FOR the Note 4. But yet here we sit still with no Marshmallow on the heels of Android N being released.

And for the all the trolls coming on after me blaming Google and or Samsung, do your research. Google are the first to roll it out and the manufacturer tests and releases VERY shortly after. Waiting for Verizon to "soak test" and release the update is an absolute and total joke.

We overpaid for these flagship devices when they were released and should not have to get the latest flagship device just to receive the latest Android update and won't.

It's either bye bye Verizon or I'll just switch to iPhone. At least all their updates will bypass the "red tape" instituted by big red. I've got an iPad Pro 9.7, also through Verizon and in the short time I've had it, I've already received 2 iOS updates.
