Note 8 & Gear VR 2016

Will the Note 8 work with the Gear VR 2016 I received with my Note 7. If not, then is there an exchange policy to swap out 2016 version with Note 8 version of Gear VR. OR am I stuck with a Gear VR once I turn in my Galaxy S7E?

Any insight is welcome.

Yes the Gear VR 2016 is compatible with the Note 8

I have read someone tried to fit the Note 8 in the Gear VR 2016 with difficulty. And booted the system ok. Need more opinions on this as Samsung is not backing this claim and recommending their newer Gear VR designed for Note 8. Hence the dilemma and question.

Early adopters amongst us please share your experience. Thanks.
