Note 9 Losing Paired Bluetooth Devices

I just recently starting having an issue where my Note 9 loses all paired bluetooth devices when the phone is restarted. Is this due to an update, or possibly an app or setting? I don't restart all that often, but when I do it sucks to repair a dozen devices every time.

I understand how frustrating it can be to repair a dozen or more of your devices when this happens, sorry to hear about the issue. We would be more than happy to help out. Did this issue occur after a recent software update? Does your device lose a paired connection with your Wi-Fi service when you restart or is it just with your Bluetooth connections? The first step I would try is to reset the network settings in your Note 9 and then retest. You can use this link as a how to guide on resetting these settings.  https://vz.to/2xjVfJ6.

This happens with my Note 9, too.  And as a bonus, it also loses my bluetooth devices after putting the phone into Airplane mode.

My Note 9 is having the same issue.   It started after the most recent software update.

Same issue here. All parties decided to get removed. This is after the most recent update and restart.

Rhbsvcmo, being able to maintain a Bluetooth connection is vital and don't want you to have to reconnect every time your connection drops. Are you currently still having issues with all Bluetooth connections that are made?

At this time, we don't see any internal reports that would suggest this is a known issue. So we can focus on a resolution, please use the link attached for how to Reset network settings on your Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Please keep us posted on any changes, there are other ways to correct this going forward. http://spr.ly/6604EZldi

This problem is widely known if you just search on the internet you'll find it on the XDA forum for instance.

Ever since I received the Android Pie update on my Note 9, everytime the phone reboots it loses all Bluetooth devices.

I have two of these phones ,exact same issue ...very frustrating!

As a consumer myself, I can understand the frustration when my device is not working properly, penogg. We want to continue to dig into this and find a resolution. Have you been able to reset your network settings and test the connection again after a reboot?

We appreciate you giving that a try, penogg. We're very sorry that this issue is continuing to occur. I took a look at Samsung's forums, as well as our own internal forums, and also the XDA forums. Everything that I'm seeing is that people did have to re-pair all of their devices after updating to Pie, but only once. We're not seeing any ongoing issues where people have to re-pair devices after every reboot of the phone. My recommendation would be to back the phone up and then complete a factory data reset to clear any possible software glitch that's going on. You can reset this with the steps here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-218936/ If you need to know where you can download their software tool to create a backup, you can do that here: http://bit.ly/2XMCPfG Does this information help? This is happening to me after the Android Pie update.  Not every reset causes the phone to lose Bluetooth, though.  It seems to happen only during the weekly auto-reboot that the Samsung add-on crapware offers.  I'm going to disable the auto-reboot and see what happens.

What I don't understand is this is a $1300 phone. And the only thing anyone wants to say it do a factory reset. That shouldn't be the only way to fix something this expenses. Lossing all hope for electrics.

On my note 9 with  build ppr1.180610.011.n960usqsd1  android security patch level  kernal 4.9.112, both april 1, 2019.  Last few weeks it has been doing this!  I do shut off every night but it only forgets every other restart or so.  SOOO frustration to re-pair my cars every other day!!  All devices are forgotten.  YES, I have reset network x2, YES I have deleted cache x2.  No fix.  No, I will not do another factory reset since it is not as benign as you say (takes hours even if you save as much as you can)  and according to posts it did not help anyway. Please help!!

I am also having the same problem on my Note 9. It started happening once the pie update came out and has been dropping the pairings about once a week or when ever the phone has a reboot due to updates.  Also I had this happen twice once I had more than one device in my bluetooth pairing list prior to the pie update.  The only things I have paired is my 2013 Ford mustang sync and the aftermarket kenwood dnx893s head unit.  I use the sync for phone calls and the dnx893s paring for bt music and the pandora app control.  This is getting old because it takes about 10 mins to get the pairings redone. I have to wipe out of the sync and reset its bluetooth in order for it to pair with phone.  Then have to do the same with the head unit bluetooth by deleting and cycling the bluetooth on and off.  Please figure this out. I read that you cant find this issue on the network internal to support but it is out there in droves in many forums that is how I was directed to here. We are not ignorant people that can be mindlessly told that it is not a problem when most of us in our daily lives deal with far more technical things than this  So please take this seriously

Hello blackoutlaw, thank you for contacting us. We certainly don't think you're ignorant, we take these issues very seriously and want to help you find a permanent solution. We know how irritating it can to be to have to set up all your Bluetooth connections again and don't want you to have to go through this once a week. Please use the guide in the following link to reset your network settings: http://spr.ly/6606EeVdp. You will have to set up your Bluetooth devices one last time, and please let us know if the issue continues after this reset.
