Why is it verizon has not yet released the Note edge and all the other major companies have, making it Not possible to upgrade for the holidays? It makes it seem as though verizon has no faith in their tech support to handle issues regarding new devices or os updates ( aside from putting in bloatware) being they usually have one of the longest delays on releases. This phone was basically released over a month ago everywhere else and now their are talks about skipping android 5.0 to 5.0.1 which week probably take another lengthy delay after the phone is finally released. Is there going to bea release date anytime soon?

5.01 was released because 5.0 was glitchy. Ask those people that got 5.0 how wonderful their new upgrade was. No one is stopping you form upgrading. You just can't get the $950 phone with the gimmicky screen.

mrhelper...do you find it necessary to pop in with a smart remark on every Note Edge thread?? It's really old. We get it, you don't like the phone. Then why not stay the heck off the threads entitled Note Edge?? Sweet Jesus. Give it a rest dude.

You know every time I see threads like this or about updates makes me wonder what would happen if we as a people put this kind of an effort on real issues instead of luxuries. We might be able to get problems solved that really needs solving.

BigLefty if you don't like my post you are free not to read them. As tired as you are of my posts I'm tired of posts constantly asking about updates and when a certain phone will be available since it common knowledge no Verizon rep has that info nor would they hand it out if they did. Also tired of seeing threats of leaving if people don't get their way. If one is going to leave then do it. If I felt wronged by Verizon I wouldn't hesitate to leave, but I sure wouldn't be posting about it here I'd just do it and move on.

and yet, you keep searching the Verizon threads, clicking on those same threads that annoy you, and making smarty comments. Kudos. Keep fighting the fight big guy.

Ah, I wasn't aware that he personally didn't like the phone. I'll consider his opinions on related topics in that light, going forward.

Personally I don't care what phone you buy. You can either wait for the phone or go elsewhere that's the point

Actually, I agree with Big Lefty - people who don't care, generally don't take the time to reply to every thread. But hey, whatever rows your boat.

It makes you wonder what the post would look like if the glitchy phone/software was available to users. How many "I hate Verizon for letting us have this crappy device" posts would we see?
I am with you, mrhelper

You don't need to wonder. I clearly remember all the complaints about not having kit kat "When are we getting kit kat? Verizon hates us! My phone is garbage without kit kat! I'm leaving! wah wah wah!" Then kit kat comes out SAME people say "Kit kat screwed up my phone! How can I go back to Jelly Bean, Kit Kat is terrible. How can Verizon do this to us? My phone is junk now!"

Don't get me wrong. I want Lollipop. I do feel like VZW does wait ENTIRELY too long to release updates but I'd rather it take long and work when it gets to me than the alternative. Like you said, if getting these devices and all the updates faster is the priority then switching to the carrier that gives it is the best option. Me? I would rather a stable device on a stable network. At least I know that my money is getting me the value I seek.

Hmm...well, Android LolliPop may be glitchy. By all accounts, the Edge is not - it's one of the best available at the moment. People who don't like the phone, after having used it, actually seem to be in a tiny minority--at least according to available reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, the various major carriers who have it (everyone but Verizon), etc.
Granted, there may be bias there - the Note 4 has sold far more units. But I've seen enough bitter complaints from people who spent a premium on a device, and been disappointed by glitches, to believe we'd hear about it.

So, a question I have. There are a couple of full-price versions of the Edge for sale in various places (e.g. Amazon, Newegg, elsewhere). Does anyone happen to know whether any of them/all of them have the same network compatibility, and would work with Verizon's network?
