Notification sounds, deleting apps?

Just got the Samsung Galaxy/Fascinate and have a couple questions...

Is it possible to make it so that text message notifications are audible while email notifications are silent?

Also, is there any way to delete unwanted apps? It came with so many that I'll never use.

Any help/ advice you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

for deleting apps: click on Settings on your home page-> Applications->Manage APPs, then jsut click on app and uninstall it

Any of the applications that came pre-installed on your phone can't be removed unless you willing to void your warranty.

As for the silent email notification, you could either load a custom ringtone that is just silence for a few seconds and set it as the tone for emails.
The other option would be to set the email account(s) to never sync unless you open the email app.

You would have a different audible notification for the text messages.
