PC connection issues

I need help.  When I hook up my S4 via the supplied cable to my PC the PC recognizes the device as a Samsung Android but not the model of the phone.  After 30 seconds or so it disconnects.  My drivers are up to date although Samsung doesn't list my I545VRUAME7 it does list a black Verizon 16GB S4.  Can anyone help me?  PC is running Windows 7.

What happens on my Windows 7 PC is this: I connect the phone to the PC via USB. Briefly, Explorer shows a new drive called CD Drive Verizon Mobile (I:). Then this disappears and a new Portable Device (labeled a Potable Media Player) called SCH-I545 appears. If I try to access that drive I: while it appears, I can't do anything with it. But SCH-I545 has folders called Card and Phone, which have the contents of the phone and SD card. I suspect that if I went into the phone's settings and changed the device name to something other than the generic one, I'd get that instead of SCH-I545.

What exactly do you see in Explorer when you connect to the PC?

Apparently my driver was messed up and now my phone behaves as yours does.  I'm interested in importing my iTunes library but I don't see a "Music" file.  Can I put it in the com.samsung.music directory?

If there isn't a Music folder, you can create one.

Although you might want to use another app/program to sync your iTunes library with the phone. Like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.doubleTwist.androidPlayerProKey

Let's get you back up and running jumpinminnow. So that we can troubleshoot correctly,what are you trying to sync the device to your pc? Have you previously been able to connect your device to your pc successfully? Also, are you getting a certain error when your phone disconnects.
