Palm Centro data transfer to Fascinate

Is it possible to transfer data from my old Palm Centro to the Fascinate? I have lengthy memos and contacts that I'd love to move to my new phone or app without a lot of heartburn. Is this possible? My friends keep telling me about Backup Assistant but I can't find it on my Palm Centro. Help!

I have listed some information below that may help with the transfer of your contact information.

The Samsung Fascinate uses Gmail to sync contact information and calendar information. Below are the steps on how to get your contacts transferred to the new Samsung Fascinate.

Step 1.

Exporting the contacts as a .*CSV using the Palm Desktop Manager.

*If you do not have Palm Desktop, I have included the article below on downloading and installing it.

Step 2.

 Import the.*CSV contacts into Gmail.

***If you do not have a Gmail account, follow the instruction below.

  1. Navigate to http://mail.google.com/mail/signup.
  2. Fill out the Create an Account form and submit.

Step 3.

Log into the existing Gmail account on the new Android device. The contacts will sync automatically over the air. To confirm that the information will sync over the air, I have also included an instruction on turning on Google sync below:

***For syncing over memos there may be a “writer” or “note” like application in the Google marketplace that may assist in that process.

Thank you very much. Worked like a charm. I'll take your advice on looking for a "writer" or "note" app. At worst I can probably cut and paste off of Palm Desktop into a Word doc and then into some app. This is my first Droid experience and it looks like there are apps for just about anything. Thanks again.
