I've had the phone for 3 onths but this this just happened recently. I called it on my wifes phone and it does sound like I have  acloth over the phone when I am talking. I went thru all the steps Verizon has posted to resolve this, Safe MOde. It even did it in Safe Mode. No one can understand whay I am saying. this really sucks.

This happened to my son once, on a different model phone.  It was about 3 weeks old and I brought it to verizon fully prepared to argue that it was defective and I didn't want a "refurb" replacement.  The guy behind the counter blew air through the back of the phone and some fuzz flew out.  I felt pretty stupid...lol.  Anyway, this phone, the Galaxy s3 has 2 microphones (regular and noise cancelling)....tiny little pinholes, one on the top and one on the bottom.  I don't know how to tell you how to clear them since sticking a pin up in them might do more damage and not dislodge something if that is the problem.  I just looked at my phone and it doesn't look easy as the plastic under the regular backing is secured down with screws.  If you are bold and brave, you might try carefully removing that to look and see if you can blow through the mic hole from that direction?  Honestly, I don't want to tell you to do anything that could harm your phone, but if it was me, I would.

There are Micro Sweepers that ones can use for uses such as this) On my phones I use a Long a Crevice Tool that modified with a straw to Cut the suction down from our Sweeper this works really great for cleaning out these pin size speaker holes and the Ports on the phone's.. b33
