Phone charged notification with Kitkat update

Since my Kitkat update on Saturday my phone plays an annoying ring tone (which I'm not even using for any other notifications) when my battery achieves 100% charge. It even comes through in blocking mode (and woke me up last night). I've done a google search and it looks like this can't be disabled without rooting? I can't root my phone (use for work) so need another solution. Tried a battery notification app and disabled sound but it didn't work.

Lets put an stop to these interruptions cdpS4! Fill us in on the details and we'll get this taken care of for you! Which Galaxy device do you have? To be clear, the tone is coming through even when the device is on silent? Any other changes besides the update?

I have a Galaxy S4 (not the mini). I don't have the phone silenced completely... I have it in blocking mode with only notifications from about seven favorites set up to get through. The only change in my phone was the upgrade to Kitkat. It never notified me with sound that the battery was full before the upgrade, but now does, with a snippet of music I never set up as a ring tone. I would kivw to turn this particular notification of completely.

Thank you so much for the further info. I have the same device and after reviewing the phone in full details I would like to look at one setting on the device. Go to Settings, More, if there is an option for Developer Options tap on that, if there is a check mark in the Stay Awake box, please remove that check mark from the box. Then retest the device to see if those alerts will come in when the battery if full.

If you don't have the Developer Options follow these steps:

Tap on Build Number until the screen says "Developer mode is turned on"

Once that is on go back to Home screen

Back to Settings,

More

and you should now see Developer Options. Then complete the steps listed above.
