Phone won't text AT&T!

I have a galaxy s3 have had it for almost a year. About 2 month ago I noticed people not getting my messages. It is only AT&T phones I can't text. If I paying a bill every month for unlimited text messages I should be able to text whoever. Especially a man carrier like AT&T, i at the point of wanting to drop verizon and switch carriers. I have been have to use a texting app and my data just to text friends. Please help, it's starting to really bother me. Anyone know how to fix it?

??? Can you provide a little more detail. What app and how have you used data to send a text?

I have been having to you text plus to text people which uses data unless your in wifi. Its like what you use for ipods, because my phone won't text at&t phones.

Only one person on AT&T or several? Have you tried the usual; save all your text messages and then delete all texts and clear the Messaging app data, clear system cache. maybe try Handcent or Go SMS. If none of these work, I'd call Verizon Customer Service and see if something happened to your account setup. Be prepared with all your info plus AT@T numbers that you are having trouble with.

I'm sorry to hear your having issues with texting one carriers subscribers and we never want to lose you.

Let's work together and get this fixed! Have you tried deleting the contact and readding? Do you or the Att people have a signature on your messages? For example, Sent from ... phone or a Smiley face.

I have factory reset my phone twice trying to fix it. I have tried typing in the number instead of going to contacts.
