When I open my photo gallery, the pictures show up but I can't scroll through them. If I open the pics thru the camera, I can scroll half way through before it freezes. Any answers?

Hello scotty4806,
The suggestion that mdk6 gave is certainly a great step, thanks mdk6! May I ask have you tried it yet? If so then what was the results? We know how important it is to view and share those precious moment that you captured by camera. If it didn't work then please advise as to any error message, if any, that you are getting. We are eager to get this resolved for you.
Thank you...

Thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot with us, lilylulu! The steps to clear the data of the Gallery are as follows: Menu>Settings>Application manager>All>Gallery. When you unmounted your SD card were you still able to view all of your pictures? I would suggest mounting your SD card again so that you can still take advantage of the extra memory. Please keep me updated on the status as I would be happy to help further if needed.
Thank you,

I want to try this - but not sure where the "clear data" is under setting. Really don't want to do the factory reset and loose all my apps. Could you give me a bit more info - under major setting I don't see "clear data".

Hello lilylulu,
Thank you for keeping us updated on the issue on the device. We are just as eager as you to get this resolved once and for all. May I ask have you cleared the data on the device? If you haven't done so then here are the steps on how to do so.
Settings > Application Manager > All > Phote Gallery > Force Close > Clear Data.
After you have tried this step then please share your findings. The results of this step will greatly determine the direction that we need to go in next.
Thank you...

Okay am been trying to get this to work and I "unmounted the SD card" and all is well - but pretty sure that's not a good fix. What do you think that means?

Thanks for your efforts, lilylulu. I believe that we have reached a point where completing the master reset is necessary. I know that it's a time consuming step, but it's very effective. Here are the instructions: http://tinyurl.com/mevkuha Please let me know if this helps.

I am having this same problem, just started. I tried clear data and force stop and it worked for one time, now it doesn't work either, I can open my photo gallery but can't click on any of the pics to do anything with them, ie share, crop, make into wallpaper etc. What now?

We appreciate you all for letting us know about this. Please test the camera/galley without the SD card and let us know what happens.
We have found in some instances where a defective SD card will affect the gallery.
If that is the case, you can remove the SD card and save the content to your computer, format the card and try it again.
Also try resetting Gallery: App--menu-->Settings-->Application manager-->All--> Gallery-->Clear data/Force Stop.
Please keep us posted.

I was having the same issue. So I followed advice I got on here to clear data and force close the app. Now all the pictures on my SD card are gone and the "camera" folder in my gallery also disappeared after I unmounted and remounted my SD card. Not sure if this helps you.. But just be careful.

sooperdee354, did you reboot the phone to force a rebuild of the gallery/media database? Were your pictures stored on your SD card or the phone's internal memory? Did you clear cache/data on the Media Storage app too and then reboot your phone? Did you look at the DCIM folder on both the phone and SD card? If there were no pictures in either DCIM folder then they are most likely gone. You could try a deleted file recovery program on you SD card if the photos were stored there.

sooperdee354, if your pictures are not viewable through your phone, you can test your SD card with your computer by connecting your phone via USB. You can follow the steps in this link to view your pictures on the computer. http://vz.to/1cyEeqi Please continue to keep us posted!

I'm currently having the same issue. I did everything this post said and it still doesn't work. My gallery won't even open. It attempts to open the forces itself closed. I also tried to delete photos off my SD card and I can't do that either. Maybe its an error with my Samsung SD card?
