Prompted to Back-Up?

Yesterday evening I looked at the screen on my Fascinate and there was a prompt to agree to back-up my data to Back-Up Assistant. Any idea why this would happen? I have had this phone since October 2010 and have never received such a prompt before.

Under Accounts & Sync there are settings for backup assistant. You can turn it on or off there and it usually it defaults to "late night". it does this daily. Why you never noticed it, I have no idea, but it is a good idea to leave it on so you can retrieve your contacts in case your phone is lost or stolen.

Or as an alternative or a second back up you can sync with Gmail and save your contacts that way. I personally don't use Backup Assistant because I find it to be buggy at times. Gmail syncing is the way to go in my opinion.
