S21 stuck "please wait while voicemail is being downloaded"

I recently did a smart switch from an S9 to an S21 and my voicemail is stuck in "please wait while voicemail is being downloaded" . I absolutely cannot lose my voicemails!!! How can I fix this? My network and Wi-Fi are fine, I force stopped the app, restarted my phone...I'm at a loss!! Please help!!!

Update: I called my voicemail and there was a message with information about visual voicemail. As soon as I listened to the message my problem is fixed!! My VM is working fine and nothing is lost. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, I'm just glad it's working.
