I am having to reset my phone multiple times a day in order to receive text messages. Then they all come flooding through. I have tried both messaging apps, I have cleared the Cache, nothing is working permanently.
I hope you get an answer as I am in the same boat. I had zero issues until the most recent update.

Same here, Galaxy S22 Ultra. Sending messages works, but I can not receive any until i restart my phone. I had a lot flood in last Thursday 9/8 at 7:30AM central without restarting. Now I did not receive any from yesterday, Thursday 9/15 until I just restarted.
Receiving also does not work from generic 5 digit numbers, like my credit card/bank notifications. It is not a particular carrier affected. I am using the Google Messages app (default app from Verizon with S22 Ultra).
Phone is updated to latest version, and messages app updated to latest version.
IF YOU USE FACEBOOK MESSENGER YOU CAN SET IT AS YOUR DEFAULT SMS AND YOU WILL GET YOUR TEXT MESSAGES CORRECTLY. THIS IS A WORK AROUND UNTIL YOU GET AN UPDATE WITH AN ACTUAL FIX.

So I am having the same issue. No matter what I do to the battery settings or setting apps to do not sleep, Google messages text messages get delayed until I soft power off and on my phone. Sometimes it will just be sitting there untouched and will get 10 notifications for texts all at once. Just now my husband text me and I haven't gotten it yet. I'm going to try to use Samsung default messages to see but shouldn't have to do that. I'll have him reply here with a full list of settings so we can start looking at them all.
Same issue after recent software update. Friends are having same issue. HUGE problem Verizon!
I'm having this issue as well. Started yesterday when I stopped receiving texts from iphones. Now today I can't receive any at all. I can send them fine. Tried resetting phone, clearing cache etc.
SHERHO80, we never like to see that you are coming across issues with your services. Did anything on your device change before this started? As examples: software update, new app downloaded, etc? What messaging app are you using?

I went to the verizon store this morning and they ended up putting a new SIM card in and that fixed the issue. It took around 5 minutes then all the texts came through. Seems to be working fine ever since then.
Same. I have been missing work related texts as well as family texts until I restart my phone then a flood of a dozen at a time will come in. In the text message box it will have a little spinning loading wheel next to their names when something is trying to come through sometimes but more often than not, I don't get any notification or anything about someone trying to text me. Very disappointed as this didn't happen with my old S9+.
I am experiencing the same problem. I use Messages for my text messages. Is anyone working on this repair?

I'm also having this issue, on a S21 Ultra. Also seems to be after latest software update. I can get texts to update if I force stop Messages+ and then open it again. Clearing cache and data didn't work. Switching to Messages didn't work either.

I am having the same problem on my S21 ultra. Having to restart multiple times a day. Happens with Verizon messaging AND samsung messenger. Spent a long time troubleshooting with tech support yesterday and still not fixed!! Something in the last update. How many people have to complain about having the same problem before Verizon actually addresses it??? Is it that they don't care or they think it's just a coincidence that this many people are complaining about the same thing within a short time span. Been a loyal customer for over 20 years but I don't feel very appreciated right now.

Did verizon give you any helpful suggestions?
I'm using the one that came standard with the s22 ultra just called Messages with the blue icon having a point on the top left pointing left.
Software version/update is S908USQS2AVHH that was applied September 15th, 2022 at 3:25am.

I'm having the same problem with my S21 Ultra. It started with the most recent update. I did discover that if I removed my sim card then reinstalled it, all the missing text messages came through (32 of them). But I stopped getting them again a day later. Did the sim card process again and bam! Here they all come again. This is is my work phone and completely unacceptable! Simply ridiculous!
Same problem on my S22 ultra. Guessing a bad update somewhere since we're all having issues. Only update I recall was Samsung's monthly security update.

I'm in the same boat, but I have an S21. After the last 2 recent software updates, my text messages and voicemails have not been coming through and when they do, my phone's going off like crazy. I use my phone a lot for work (like many others!) and it's just super annoying that no one can get a hold of me until 6, 8, or 10 hours later in some cases!!
I am no longer able to receive text messages either on my S21. Sometimes if I restart the phone they will flood in all at once. This started happening a couple days ago and my boss and other important people are getting mad at me for not responding to them. This needs to get fixed ASAP, please
I've got the same issue with my S22 Ultra. It first happened last Thursday (Sept 15). On Friday (Sept 16) I got flooded with 76 texts at one time. It just happened again this morning. Almost 40 texts from yesterday (Thursday, Sept 22) just came through this morning after I did a restart. I have property rentals and use my phone for my business so I've got to have this working. My Note 8 that I replaced with this phone never had any issues like this, or hardly any for that matter. I hope Verizon gets this resolved ASAP!!!

I also have been having this problem with my S21+. I have batches of messages coming in at random times or if I restart my phone. It is getting in the way of my everyday functioning and I would like a solution ASAP. As this is a primary function of the phone, please make it a priority to find a fix!

So what is the word on this verizon? I have yet to see a straight answer, it clearly happened with the last update, and yet no follow up update to fix it. This is causing some serious issues for our family and business.

Been going on for weeks now since recent update. Got better for a week or so. Problems again today.
I have the same issue with the s21. I replaced the Sim card and it still didn't work.
Received the "fix" this morning. Basically they know folks are having problems, they apologize, and try to use a different messaging app in the meantime while waiting for the next update to hopefully fix the issues. . So, we should be getting a discount on our bill right? Since one of the PRIMARY functions of the device isn't working?

Having same issue on not receiving texts thru message + since last updates. Does not fix the issue. I all of a sudden get dumps of texts, sometimes even from the day before. Checked software updates and did one today again, still no change, i dont get texts reliably, they all come in bunches from different people all at the same time usually quite late.

This is happening to me too since the forced update. Makes it impossible when working from home!! They need to fix this. Ridiculous. Everyone should receive a phone credit for not being able to use their phones!!
Unable to call out or receive calls. Texts just keep saying sending until it fails. I restart my phone 20 times and sometimes it will work for a few minutes and then goes right back to doing the same things. This did not start happening until the forced update. Many people work from home and depend on the cell service, including me. Please help!! @vzw_customer_support

Apologies for any confusion, but the issue with texting on S22 devices was due to Samsung's earlier software update. A new software update has been sent out as of 9/29, so please look for it to arrive on your phone soon to fix the messaging issue. This was not carrier-specific, and not related to any network connection.

If you stopped receiving messages after a software update, functionality may also be restored by changing the default messaging app. However, the messaging app may not be compatible with the current software version. Check regularly for software updates to restore compatibility.

Are you serious? The first sentence on the Samsung page in that link you sent says "If you are having trouble sending or receiving messages, or they seem slow, it is usually an issue with the carrier or its service."
Finger pointing and no real resolution.
You are absolutely right, CherylB888. Finger pointing is never helpful, regardless if there is fault or not. Our attention must be focused on a solution. WOW.....This is still an issue after over a year......
I just started having this issue, at very random times and random messages. I can be texting a friend and not receive texts from others until I reboot my phone. It is not isolated to a particular person or device. Just random across my contacts. So I never know when it is working correctly or not.
This needs fixed....hope they figure it out soon. It also seems to be isolated to Verizon. As I know others with the same phone but different carriers and they have no issues.
