My galaxy S22 won't download MMS messages or send them. I do have a solid mobile data connection as I can quickly load from various social media apps, and view the internet. I have tried this with Wifi on and off. I have reset the phone, reset network settings, cleared the message cache, tried switching to a different default messaging app, toggled auto download on and off. Nothing has worked. In the past, there have always been occaisional MMS messages, both incoming and outgoing, that would get lost in space when interacting with an Iphone user, but this is different. My phone knows the messages are there, it just will not download them.

Making sure that you receive & are able to send pictures is a big part of staying connected with family and friends. I am concerned to read that you have had some trouble & would love to help. To best assist, I would like to ask a few questions. When did you first notice an issue? Where are you located (city, state)? What happens when you try to send an MMS?

My Galaxy s20 Ultra 5G started doing this today as well. No MMS picture messages or group chat messages going through. Nothing changed, no recent updates (last updated late April). I've done everything - network reset, soft restart, clear caches, tried verizon messages app instead, nothing... in Idaho

Ferrisc9, thanks for reaching out. Help has arrived. We do want to make sure that you can send/receive messages on your device. To confirm, are you having issues with all text messages or just with picture messages? Are you getting an error message? If so, what does the error message say?

I am having the same issue since I got my S22. I can't receive any MMS messages. I can't do group texts. I can't send any MMS messages. This is beyond frustrating. I would have kept my old phone if I knew this would happen.

Are you using the Google Messages app for messaging? If so, disable the chat feature.

I am in a great area signal wise. Can get calls, text, data, send MMS, but... I can not download MMS. My messages come in and fail to download. I have toggled auto-download, chat, and used different apps. Native samsung, google, and a third party.
I wasted the entire day today being told by Samsung and Verizon it is each others fault. Then I went to the store and the corporate store rep told me it is definitely verizon if I can send MMS and everything else. Such a pain. Strongly considering leaving the company.
Long story short, I can take my phone anywhere else and it works. Verizon likes to point the blame and not fix anything on their end. I got hung up on twice and then chat support suddenly "disconnected" while assisting me with my issue when I was told they had the answer finally.
Verizon support is a joke. We can use it the way it is or take our business where they will actually provide solutions and customer support instead of pointing fingers and avoiding responsibility.

Hello nickpaq, I am sorry you are having the issues you are having. I will agree 100% Verizon Customer Service is a complete JOKE, if you can even call it that. I hope you get your issues resolved and if you do choose to leave and/or find better Customer Service with another wireless provider, please do share with me. I am looking as well.
Go luck,
Salty

I started having the same problem a couple weeks ago, and only on Verizon, not on Wi-Fi, and only MMS images. If I just send a text it will go through fine, but if I send it with an image attached, it will spin forever and never send. Last week my home ISP was down, and I was completely unable to work from home using my Verizon data, I spent the week sitting in a nearby parking lot with better cell service. Now starting a couple days ago I'm also having trouble making a phone call. It just disconnects after dialing. This is a new problem, but it's gone on long enough I may need to switch back to AT&T.
