S4 Camera Failure

Received a selfie stick for Christmas. Plugged in the remote shutter release into the speaker jack and then received a pop up that the camera had failed. And it has failed.

Is there anything that can be done to get the camera functioning again?

Now I can see why that would be a problem. Your next step in this case would be to have you backup and complete a master reset of the phone. When was the last time you backed up your phone?

No, the camera does not work without the selfie stick. It does not work at all. There was no software installed with the selfie stick. Basically, I inserted the remote into the speaker port and then saw the pop up that the camera had failed.

One other bit of information: The scanner app I have loaded (scans barcodes) still works. So the lens/optical piece of the camera still works.

Did you try and delete the cache for the camera app, and have you tried a battery pull?

Yes. Tried both. No joy.
