Actually the main reason that I asked was because the version number that the original message said was 4.4.3.  To my knowledge the KitKat update that we are all waiting on is 4.4.2.  Actually that would be nice if we got 4.4.3 since all the other S4's have 4.4.2.

Yes it would be nice. The 4.4.3 updated version is supposed to be released soon to everyone else as well. I believe it's supposed to fix some bugs found on 4.4.2.

This link contains some info of update. It is mentioned for Nexus devices too. I'm sure other devices will have similar update specs.http://www.inferse.com/14362/android-4-4-3-kitkat-update-for-nexus-4-nexus-5-nexus-7/

Your link is referring only to the Nexus devices not the Samsung Galaxy S4 phones.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Yes, I know the link was for Nexus devices.

I was hoping that it would start a fresh 4.4.3 rollout for S4 instead of 4.4.2 that we're still waiting on.

Well its Tuesday now and still no KitKat update.  I think the original poster was given some bad information or he didn't say which Monday the update was going to happen, like beyedup said.  Maybe someday we will get the update.

Well it's Monday! My S4 still hasn't seen the 4.4 update.

Then again I guess the insider news didn't say what Monday?

I am not holding my breath for any update from Verizon at this point.  The S5 has kit kat and they want everyone to buy that one and sign up for another two years of shotty customer service and decreasing signal reliability.  When they point out that the S5 has kit kat and says that the S3 and S4 doesn't, has to tell you something right there.

Well, I am going to get an S5 but I am waiting for the S5 32 gb version which may be out in a few weeks as they did with the S4 I have now, but there will be no new 2 year contract.  We may or may not have KK on the S4 by that time.  If they don't bring the S5 32 gb to VZW I will just wait for the Note 4 and see how I like that other than the larger screen.

Not me! I won't buy another phone from these SCUMBAGS anymore. Trying to force people into buying a new phone to get the latest firmware is pathetic. If someone wants the new model, then they will buy it.

Verizon has really lost respect from a great deal of it's customers. They really showed just how much they care about updating their devices that are only one year old. By the time they milk this S5 release out and hold off on S4 4.4 update, the S4 will be two years old.

Buying a new phone just to get a minor OS upgrade is foolish.

Agreed! But some people will do it and give in. I'm personally getting tired Verizon. I may take other steps to get it updated and say the heck with them.

All smartphones get updates just like computers but it's up to the individual to choose to update or to pass,  The best place to find out if updates are doable and safe to get is through media, social channels any place that puts out information on the update.. I usually hold of about 3 to 4 months to update my Droids..

Yeah! I hear what you're saying. But this update has been out for months already and is being intentionally kept from the prior phone model just to force sales of new model 1 year newer.

The VZW S4 is running 4.4.2  if going through the alternative method and not waiting for this milk job to run dry.

I do the same thing with updates, waiting 3-4 months to download it. When 4.3 JB came out last year for the S4 I kept clicking off the uddate notification as so many people were reporting problems. Then one day about 4 month later my phones battery died, plugged it in to recharge, after about 10 minutes I turned the phone on and the update forced itself on the phone and it was downloading, so I let it finish.  Luckily the were no problems with the phone after the update finished.  When KK comes out I will do the same thing.

Wow! Yeah that does sound like it's worth that price tag then. Toshiba Sat and Harmon/Kardon speakers, sweet! Hopefully at least 500GB-1GB drive too?

But yeah, I got this S4 to replace my RAZR Maxx XT912. I still have the RAZR Maxx as a backup, but the S4 was a totally different experience for me. I was always a Moto lover with phones due to their great, long lasting performance and outstandind durability. The S4 seems a little more fragile than the XT912. But it does contain some newer technology the XT912 didn't have.

I've only had this S4 a few months already. But I still would like the newest Android OS on it. Especially with the other carriers same model phone already getting the update.

We'll just have to see when it arrives for the S4!.....on VZW!

I don"t know if this means anything or not, but I was to the software support page a little bit ago, and the mk2 page, which is the version we are on now, was gone, and the information that was there was for a older software version.  I would hope it is this way because they are updating the page for the kit kat update, but I am not going to get my hopes up.  This is Verizon we are talking about.

radar320, I have noticed the same thing with Verizon's software update page.  One day it will show the MK2 update and sometime later it will change to the MI1 update.  It seems to shift between theses two updates.
