S4 will not charge or even detect the charger. Help?

My S4 has not been able to detect the charger for over a month now. I have used multiple USB cables, plugs, brands, etc... to no avail. I am currently using 2 batteries and a wall charger to suffice for right now, but it's a huge pain in the butt to switch them around 2x a day, and it takes the batteries ~6hours to charge on the wall charger. Plus, I like to connect it to my computer for file transfers, but I obviously cannot do that now.

I have done a factory reset, I have done everything I can think of. I really don't want to get a new phone, I do not have insurance on this one and my contract is not up for a long time.

I am NOT running kit kat because I heard there are also charging issues with that, so I am still on Jellybean and I plan to stay on Jellybean, for good. I do not want Kit Kat.

Any advice on this? I am really trying to avoid getting a new phone. I will keep using the wall charger if that is my only option.

In order to correct these issues we do recommend updating your device to the most recent OS version available. Once this is completed we would be happy to continue with alternative options. Same issue I'm having. Only way to charge mine is shut down and put the battery in an external (3rd party) charger (which works GREAT, BTW) or plug the phone into the USB in my car. Otherwise it's not charging no matter what charger I use. The fact it's working in the external charger tells me it's not the battery and it's working in the car tells me it's not the phone connector. The only other thing that changed is the operating system!

Thanks for trying all those extra chargers, DHB3. I'm glad you've found some way to get the power you need. Do you get any error when plussing your phone into these other chargers that don't charge? Are any of the ones you've tried the original home charger that came with the phone? Please go to Apps > Settings > About phone and let me know the Baseband version and Build number listed on your phone.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been busy trying to restore the rest of my app settings. Two nights ago my S4 suddenly decided it WOULD charge from everything except the original charger. First I plugged it back into my laptop's USB and it showed the charging icon (which hasn't happened since this problem started). Then I tried my main desktop, and it showed charging. Same for the EZO cradle I have and for other manufacturer micro-USB chargers (such as Kindle). The only one that won't work is the original charger. I'm delighted, but I'm still frustrated that I had to go through a hard reset and spend hours putting my mobile digital world back together, and I still don't know what fixed it.

I understand your concern with the phone not charging, and I'm glad you reached out to us. While I'm glad it's fixed, we don't want you to feel frustrated. The phone should be plugged into the wall adapter since PCs, car chargers, etc do not have enough power to really charge it if dead. Have you tried this with the manufacturer charger again? Is there any damage to the charger?

Thanks for the response. The original equipment charger will not charge the phone (no lightning bolt in the battery symbol) and I tried it with different cables, so I know it's not the cable. The phone is charging fine with other chargers again.
