S5 MMS photos not downloading

Hi,

Samsung Galaxy S5 is not downloading photos from MMS whether on wireless network or wifi. I hit the "download" button and it hangs with a moving status bar but no download. It's a 30kb file so file size is not the issue. I'm using the native Samsung messaging app but this happened on the Verizon app too.

Anybody know what the deal is?

Hi Integr8shunR,

Picture memories are awesome! We know its important to be able to view those memories. Is this happening on every picture message? Has your picture messages ever worked? Are these pictures messages sent in a text message or email?

This does not happen to every picture message; picture messages have worked. After I go repeatedly through the process I described in my first post, I'll just put the phone down and come back to it later and the pictures will be there. The pictures are sent as a text message.

Let's check your settings integr8shunR!

Please go to Messages>Menu>Settings>Sms/MMS and be sure that Auto Retrieve is checked. This tells the phone to automatically download any picture message that comes in. Please let us know if that takes care of it!

I am having the same issue. Just got a replacement phone due to another issue with this phone...ready to trade it in! SO FRUSTRATED! And yes, auto retrieve is on, mobile data is on, signal is good. Just not working!

I'm having this same problem as of a few weeks ago. Frustrating this problem hasn't been solved but has been going on for years for seemingly random reasons. I've tried clearing the Message+ cache and data (losing all of my settings), I've tried deleting almost all my texts (probably down to 10% of what I had). I can reboot my phone and the messages will come through.
