Hello. I activated my new S7 Edge yesterday and already noticed that it will randomly wake up and show my lock screen (when there are no notifications) and then go back to sleep after a few seconds. What kind of bug is this?
Any kind of known bugs out there? I've noticed it has dropped and reconnected WIFI a few times too. I really want to like this phone but will get rid of it if it is as buggy as the S6.
Thank you.

I haven't had any wifi issues, but have noticed the phone showing the lock screen when there is no notifications. It is especially annoying at night when trying to fall asleep.

We want to make sure your phone is working properly, c_heidecker. I had a similar experience with my device. I eventually found that when I waved my hand over the sensor, which is by the front facing camera, my screen would wake up. Have you noticed if your screen wakes up if you pass over it?

No that is not the issue. It sits a few feet away from me on my desk at work. Nothing is passing over the sensor.

It seems as though this is an issue experienced by a few S7 Edge customers. Since this is the case we do want to reach out to Samsung to see if there is a fix for this, c_heidecker.
Before we do that, can you try the step that radar320 mentioned?

Thank you for your response. I have tried turning off the "always on display" and my screen still would come on for no reason. Also noticed the screen would come on when the GPS would search for location or if wireless networks were available. The screen would also turn on without notifications
.
I really wish this problem could be resolved. It is really annoying at night when the screen would light up several times and stay on until I turn it off.

Mine has been doing it also. It may be me, but it seems to have started or at least increased in frequency since last update. Really annoying at night. Wish there was a fix!

I turned off the "always on" display, and my phone has not had one random screen wake up in 4 hours.

Yep. Both of my edges do it too. It's widely reported over on the Galaxy S7 sub-Reddit as well.

Thanks for working with us. With this specific issue and it being caused by the update, the best course of action will be reaching out to the manufacturer of the device directly. Here is a helpful link that will get you pointed in the right direction: http://bit.ly/1MSes7a
