S7 Edge and Gear S2 watch

The weather app on the S2 watch will only update with the S7 when the Bluetooth is connected. I also have a home wifi network connected but it will not update the weather on the S2 in standalone mode. Any ideas, I really hate to keep the Bluetooth always connected and would like to operate the S2 in standalone mode only.

Gbktoledo, knowing what storms lie ahead is the best way to be prepared. We want to ensure that your new watch is providing the details that you were looking for. A couple of things that we can check, is the phone that this connects with, in power saving mode? In Settings, Apps and under the All tab, please select Weather, clear the data on it. Open the Samsung weather widgit and set your location with all other relevent information (how often to update). Once completed, please check the app and advise.
