Is Verizon Taking care of the customers on this issue or do we have to deal with samsung. I'm just over a year since purcahse date. I'm done with samsung!
I think you have to take it to samsung. This problem has been around since the phone came out.
From what I have read Samsung was taking the phones back and giving new ones out.
I have not seen post like this for awhile but I am sure if you get in touch with them they
should help you on this.

I know what you mean I use to have the Note7 and when we were
forced to turn them in this was one of my main concerns with the
S7 and the S7 edge. At that time there were a lot of complaints
about this phone doing that. Samsung was saying at that time it
was a hardware issue so hopefully they will still stand behind these
phone. How long have you owned this phone?
