S7 activation issues

Just received a new S7 (not pre-owned) and I receive an error to sign in to Google with a previously synced account.  I have my email and password correct, but unable to get past this step.  I've done a reset in Safe mode, restart and Factory Reset.

Anything else I can do besides find a Verizon store?

Have you checked the Google help from another device?

Yes, and there wasn't anything helpful. It was related to the phone.

The "Next" option was grayed out.  I spent an hour or so on the phone with Tech Support doing everything I had previously done on my own only to receive the same results.

Tech Support advised I bring it to a corporate store.  I went to a store in Raleigh and was seen immediately.  I shared my experience, they took a stab at it for about 10 minutes, then determined it was a defective phone.  A few minutes later, they activated a brand new phone and sent me on my way.

Unfortunately these things happen, but all is well now.
