I updated my 5s phone yesterday to the new software and now it won't read my SD card. It says it's blank or it has unsupported files. How can I fix that? or can I go back to the previous software version? I didn't have any problems before the software update.
Remove your card from the phone and try it on your computer. If files are present on the SD card copy them to your computer. Then put the card back into your phone and format the SD card using your phone to format. Then copy the files back to the SD card and see if they are read.
If it is not read by your computer you have a bad SD card and formatting may help but most likely not.
As far as going back to the previous software, that cannot be done.
Make sure the device is off or you dismount the card prior to removing it. If you remove it while mounted it could cause issues with reading on a computer or other devices.
also, when you format an sd card, you will lose any files on it.
JJust to add, when you mount or dismount, make sure phone is turned off with battery out and power cord not plugged in nor usb cable connecting it to computer. Also before you touch the card, make sure you have discharged any static electricity by touching bare metal that is grounded, like an appliance that is stainless steel that has a three prong plug (as in the two mane prongs and the third one is on the bottom and is round, that is the ground) that is still plugged in to avoid problems due to static electricity!
