Samsung Galaxy S III issue while correcting text message

This seems to be happening since the latest update. I will be typing in a text message and if I go back to a word that was typed incorrectly and use the suggestion it will erase almost everything that I have typed. I don't notice anything highlighted where it would insert the correction over everything that was just typed. Suggestions? It is so frustrating to be typing a longer text and then have everything erased just by correcting one word.
Thanks,
Mags

Same thing has been happening to me and many others. Verizon & Samsung know about this problem and said it will be fixed in the next update. But the fix is easy. You will have to download another keyboard from the market. I didnt want to do that either but it fixed this problem for me. I downloaded "Swipe" keyboard. And i like this one better. Good luck.

I feel your pain. Ever since the Jelly Bean update my Samsung keyboard permanently has haptic feedback and keytones on, which I hate. I had it turned off and then Verizon pushed the update and now I can't get the haptic to stop, and the only way to have keytones stop is to be on silent or vibrate. When I go to turn them off in Settings, it already shows that it is not selected. I have also started having issues with autocorrect and smart words. If I am typing and I misspell a word, then click one of the smart words or the correct spelling of the word, it jumps to almost the beginning of my text, post, message and I have to start back over again. Extremely frustrating. I have turned this feature on and off and it has not fixed. I the normal Messaging system for texting, Outlook and Gmail for Email and Facebook and Twitter and it doesn't matter which app I am it it does this in every one. I was so excited to finally have a fast awesome phone with no issues. Until Jellybean.
