So if I buy the new Samsung Galaxy S10 now, when 5 g is available, later this year or next, will I have to upgrade to another new phone for the 5 g to be compatible? I haven't found the answers yet. Or would we be better to wait it out another 6 months or so?
Thanks

5G is here, and it is exciting. You pose a great question, wickerbomb. If you buy a 5G device, before the service is launched in your area, the device will still run very well on 4G LTE. In terms of upgrading, if you get a 4G device now, and want a 5G device in the near future, please keep in mind, you will need to pay off the current device.

I don't know where you live, but my quess is that 5G is not going to be universally available for at least a year if not two. All the major carriers are launching it in a couple of major metro areas just so they can advertise they have it. Those of us who live work and travel in more rural areas of the country won't be seeing 5G for awhile.
