Once again, I'm stuck in a foreign country with no access to data except on WIFI. I have purchased the Global roaming plan and I have inserted a local (London) SIM card.
*Is it true my phone number doesn't work with a local SIM card?
*Do I need to turn something on to access my allotted $$$ of Internet services via the phone?
Help!

Foxpaw,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your service while traveling. Was the plan that you purchased through the local carrier or Verizon Wireless? If through us you would need to have our sim card inserted in order to get that benefit. You also may want to check with our global support team to see if all provisions were set to be able to use the local carrier http://bit.ly/xZd3pS. Please keep us updated on this info.
Thank you,

In order for your phone to work in another country with a sim card for a local carrier is to have the global department unlock your phone before you left. you can still do it, you just have to contact customer care from over there now. I know the number is different.

Yes, you need to keep the VERIZON SIM card in the phone if you want to 1) keep your same phone number and 2) access the Global Data Plan that you purchased through Verizon.
