Samsung S20+ Unlocked Version Getting 5G? SM-986U1

I have the Unlocked version of the Samsung S20+ (SM-G986U1 model) in Software Information, the Server provider SW ver. is SAOMA_SM-G986U1_OYM_VZW-QQ-0027.

I've never seen a 5G indicator. I read somewhere where unlocked versions of the Samsung phone may not get the 5G software. I would be surprised as this is probably the primary purpose to get one of these phones. Is the Unlocked version just getting the update later?

Interesting. According to Verizon the issue is probably that my SIM card (which is over a year old) needs to be replaced with a SIM card that supports 5G. Guess I'll give a new SIM card a try.

With users complaining about nationwide 5g being slower than 4g, I wouldn't be in a rush for that.
