Samsung S5 reset backup issues

OK. I am having issues with my keypad not working correctly. Buttons/letters I push do not register correctly. I just did a backup/rest and can't enter my password because the keypad still does not work. Aarrghhh. I cant make a call for assistance because i am stuck trying to register my gmail account info.

Can you get to recovery mode where you can clear the cached date? If you can I would try that first

and if it doesn't work you may have to do the dreaded factory reset.
