Samsung SideSync 3.0 Will not connect

I just purchased a Samsung S5 Phone. One feature that I was looking forward to is SideSync.

I have a Samsung laptop (NP940X3G-K04US)  Both the laptop and S5 have SideSync 3.0 pre-installed.

I connected using the included USB 3.0 cable and enabled USB debugging on the S5.

The laptop and phone will not connect. If I scan from the laptop it will list the phone but only while the phone is also
scanning.  As soon as the phone scan times out an error pops up on the laptop indicating that the connection failed.

Anyone else having this problem?  Did Verizon disable this function? Is this just Samsung bloatware that does not work with the S5.

In searching for a solution I did see some you tube video's that demonstrated it working with other Samsung phones.

tomd357,

Excellent choice in phone! I trust you are enjoying the device thus far and will gladly take a closer look at this matter to help get this feature up and running.

Is there any way to change to mass storage/Charge only when connected?

I have this exact same problem. SideSync says I need a version of the app on my PC and my phone, as well as a version of Android OS, that I already have. It cannot connect via USB either and I have allowed debugging and all that.

I THINK it is the the VERIZON version of the API blocking it. It works fine on every other carrier and OS i've tried
