I'm having the same problem with my s22+ I purchased from a verizon store in November. I have missed a lot of voicemails for several days, and that is not good when you're looking for a job, interviewing, and waiting on phone call. Please help.

Issue exist with all of our S21 Ultra phones. One thing that at least helped when the phone is on is to make sure Power Save made is not on and the Voicemail app set to unrestricted. The one thing that is really bad is if the phone is powered down and someone leaves you a message, when you power the phone back up... there is no number or voicemail. As so many has pointed out, the only workaround is power up your phone and do a manual refresh in the Voicemail app.
Please Verizon pass this on to the development team as a severity 1 item. Voicemail is a key and essential component of the phone. Not being aware of missed Voicemails does has significant impact and consequences. Even in this thread I saw a number of examples. For me personally I had missed a call about a family member being hospitalized.

I am having the same problem - new phone in November purchased from Verizon store. I have been in the process of looking for a new job, interviewing, and waiting on phone calls, and I have missed several voicemails until a couple of weeks later. That is NOT good. Verizon, please help. I woke up the day after Christmas to 10 new voicemails - there was actually a "10" above the Voicemail icon on my home screen - that were from the first day we got our new phones in early November. Found out I had to delete all the voicemails with new phone. Okay. Today, I got a voicemail notification from a call that came in about 10 minutes before I saw the notification, however, now there also appeared a call from my Dad a few days ago, and I had just checked this morning and Voicemail showed no voicemails. This is ridiculous.

My visual voicemail isn't working either. Always say it's encountered a problem. But not what the problem is or how to fix it

I had this same problem for a long time, but for the last 3 months it's been working properly. Not sure if it was something Verizon did or maybe it was an Android update but it seems to be working OK now.

Please try running the test where you power down your phone and then have someone leave you message. Power back up your phone and see if you have any notification that a message was left or even see the call was missed.
I just repeated this test on my phone and still do not get a notification or have any indication of call happening when the phone is off. Only way to know right off is to do a manual refresh. If a new message is left when phone is on will also finally update notification to include missed messages.

I've now got two different DM threads going with this verizon support account, and one of them sent me some suspicious link asking me to authenticate so I could chat. I'm already logged into the verizon community here with a linked verizon account. I'm not getting phised. Why does every message I see from this account have a new name in the signature? This is such a phisy way to get support.
I'm just gonna need to call them I think, this seems to clearly be a bug with the app not realizing you got voicemails until you manually refresh the app, then you can see the voicemails and get notifications about them. If I could reinstall the app or anything like that I could, but it doesn't show up in the app store.

OK here's another update on the voice mail notification issue. Yesterday I tried calling voice mail
directly by dialing *86 and entering my password. It took me to my voice mailbox and there were new messages there I could listen to but still no notifications.
This morning I got a System Update notification so I did the install. After that I had my friend call me and leave a message. Then I received a voice mail notification ! When I clicked on the notification it prompted me to subscribe to Basic Visual Voice Mail (for free), or you could click on "Call Voice Mail". The first time I received a voice mail with this phone (a couple weeks ago) I got the same prompt and selected "Call Voice Mail". I got the voice mail message but after that I never got any more voice mail notifications.
So this time I selected "Subscribe to Basic Visual Voice Mail". It installed the app but it still wasn't showing any new voice mail messages. So I restarted the phone and opened the Voice Mail app. It spent a few minutes trying to refresh the mailbox but then gave me a "something went wrong" error. So I closed the app, re-opened it, then manually hit refresh, and now my voice mail messages appeared. !
This seems to confirm that the problem is with Visual Voice Mail. I never would have found this had it not been for the System Update this morning. Maybe you can manually re-install Visual Voice Mail or force a System Update ?
Hoping this will stay working now, but I need to monitor it for awhile to see if it's still working.

I've been having a very similar issue. Last week my calls didn't even come through either!
I did the update you mentioned (Update 30 on my Samsung S21) and left myself a test voicemail. It seems to be working now. Hopefully it holds.

We do have agents working around the clock to help with support, so yes you may receive a different name at the bottom of your messages. All messages are saved, and we can review what happened in a previous interaction. Was any troubleshooting started to help with your voicemail? *Heaven
