I'm having the same problem with my s22+ I purchased from a verizon store in November. I have missed a lot of voicemails for several days, and that is not good when you're looking for a job, interviewing, and waiting on phone call. Please help.
I am having the same problem - new phone in November purchased from Verizon store. I have been in the process of looking for a new job, interviewing, and waiting on phone calls, and I have missed several voicemails until a couple of weeks later. That is NOT good. Verizon, please help. I woke up the day after Christmas to 10 new voicemails - there was actually a "10" above the Voicemail icon on my home screen - that were from the first day we got our new phones in early November. Found out I had to delete all the voicemails with new phone. Okay. Today, I got a voicemail notification from a call that came in about 10 minutes before I saw the notification, however, now there also appeared a call from my Dad a few days ago, and I had just checked this morning and Voicemail showed no voicemails. This is ridiculous.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22+ that was purchased a few months ago. I have all of my settings set up properly for the voicemail but I am still not receiving a notification when I get one.
It's important to us that you have full access to your services, and we are here to help. We'll be creating a Private Note to further address this, please be on the lookout for it!

This is happening to many people since January 1st when Verizon shut down their 3G/CDMA network, but did not change any settings inside their meta switch. Currently the switch is programmed to route voice calls to your device through any service it is capable of and is the less congested to use. This results in the Meta Switch routing your incoming call to the CDMA network, and as there is no network anymore it dumps it to a voice mail box without ever ringing your handset. If you had a seperate voice mail service it might have even defaulted to verizon's voice mail box.The solution would be for Verizon Network Engineering to code a new rule into the meta switch to ignore CDMA now and only try to route calls through 4G LTE/+, 5G, or Wifi calling.
Hello. Please allow me a moment to read this fully.
*Linda
I am also having this issue since late last summer. I've checked all settings. I am disappointed instead of giving a solution Verizon sends a request for individuals to private message them without posting a fix for the issue.
VERIZON PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE ...
I'm also having the same issue. I tried to troubleshoot it by clearing my cache/data and now I can't even get the app to recognize my account. When I open the app, it has a welcome screen that you have to click to continue to set up visual voicemail. When I click continue, it spins for a couple of minutes with the message "Please wait while we check your account information." After a couple of minutes, it errors and says "Something went wrong. We ran into a problem. Try again later. If there's still a problem, contact Customer Service."
My wife cannot also get any voicemail to come through the app. You'd think for as much as we pay for this service, that at a minimum they could have a functioning voicemail app.
We want your voicemail for your phone to work for you, devildg4671. We do ask our customers to communicate with us in a Private Message, because the issue you are having typically if something we need to address on our side, and not something that is done on the phone itself.
We have sent you a Private Message, please chat with us there.

I am not getting my visual voice mails to notify or download without refreshing
Has anyone had this resolved yet??? I'm still having this issue. VZ tech support just wants to clear the data and reset the app. But the problem keeps coming back. This is unacceptable.
We are here and ready to assist with all of your concerns directly! We will be sending you a Private Note to proceed! *Jorge
I received a not-so-helpful email from Verizon regarding this. I accidentally deleted it and can't find it to post on here. They basically blamed the 5G network with no real helpful response other than upgrading to a new phone? Uh, hello this is a brand new phone, just purchased last year. Actually my husband and myself both purchased one and both are having this issue. For how much you pay for these phones, and the service this is RIDICULOUS. Is anyone aware of any other phone models having this same issue?
Imma pile on here. Got a new S22+ end of last year, and have never gotten VM notifications. I get them for the initial call, but to actually see that I have new messages, I have to go into the VM app and manually hit "refresh". Not cool. All notification settings in the app are ON, but no joy. This is happening to enough people that we need a fix from the Verizon end.
Oh, no! We would be more than happy to help. Please send us a PM so we can help.
*Cassandra
I have the same problem. I'm missing voicemails because of no notifications. All my settings are as needed for alerts. Help.
VZ tech asked me reset preferences for all the apps to resolve the issue. It didn't work. I switched to VZ with new ultra22. With so many people are having same issue I expect VZ has universal solution to resolve the issue. I have been missing important voicemail due to notification failures.

My voice mail notification don’t work either, how do I fix it
I'm having the same problem. I've tried everything. Nothing is working. I'm organizing my elderly mother's move to another state and that my voicemail is unusable is frustrating. I've missed so many important messages!
I am having the same issue, and I checked all of my notification settings.
Hello. We are sending you a Private Note in regard to this. Please respond. *De'Aundrea
Don't receive voicemail notifications on S22 ultra. I've looked at the other posts regarding this issue, but none correct my issue.
I am so sorry to hear of any issues with receiving notifications for your Voicemail. Are you able to listen to any messages after you check?
-AL
Indicator not working on Samsung S22. to alert me that I have a new voicemail. Seems to be an ongoing problems with no information on how to fix it. I'm missing important voicemails and I even pay extra for the visual voice on Verizon.
Voicemails get left by individuals, with no notifications arriving to phone... some voicemails get dumped perhaps a week after they were left. I have been through numerous agents level 2 and same troubleshooting steps every time. Very annoying.
I had the exact same issue on my Samsung S21 Ultra that I traded in for this new S23 Ultra... same issue. Basic visual voicemail does not notify you that you have any voicemails... you can open the app and look and there are none. then later I open it and see 10 emails all over 1 week old.
Temp solution is to dial *86 like you are stuck in the 80's
Hello, tala24 and please Force Stop and Clear Data the Voicemail app on your Galaxy S22 per the steps here: http://spr.ly/66093Nh7x.
Please also ensure there's no updates for your Voicemail app via the Google Play Store. Please keep us posted on any changes.

I've been with Verizon for two weeks now and for the past two weeks I've spent most of that time on chats and phone calls to support trying to get my voicemail working properly.
I want to be able to pick up the phone or turn it on and see a notification that I have a voicemail. I want to be able to go to the visual voicemail app and see that I have a voicemail. That doesn't happen right now until I go into the app and manually refresh it.
I've been dealing with voicemail on the S21, the S22, and now the S23. I think it's too much of a coincidence for the same issue across multiple galaxy devices and two carriers.
I've seen other reports in here of the same issue. The fixes that have been implemented from support are only temporary and last just a few hours. I want this fixed and working properly if I'm going to continue on Verizon.
Hi, Kathoga! Thanks for reaching out, I will send you a private note to continue with this situation.
>Nicoll
I cannot initiate the private conversation, could you do me a favor and send me a private note from your end?
I'm told that my Voice Mail box is full on my cell phone. I did a *86 and discovered I have many messages. Where do I find daily notifications that I received a voice mail message?
cb_2367 I'm sad to learn you have been dealing with this for so long and with 2 different carries. We are happy to troubleshoot with you. First, can you tell me if this is a phone purchased from Verizon. Has the alert ever worked? Does the alerts work for other things like calls, text?
-Dolores
Try this:
settings - apps - voicemail - battery - unrestricted
Apparently it is set by default to not always run in the background in order to preserve the life of the battery. (I found this tip on a thread of the same issue on the Samsung website.)
I totally understand wanting to make sure you get your notifications. When did this start? Have you cleared the old messages that you do not need on *86 to see if you get notifications again?
-Amber
I stopped reading at page 8 so maybe someone has mentioned this.
I was having this problem too on a S22 Ultra. I recently changed my voicemail greeting and didn't think much of it.
I changed it from a custom greeting to the default greeting.
Turns out, since i changed my greeting I stopped receiving voicemails. I switched back to a custom greeting and I then received all the voicemails I had missed since the initial change.
Weird things is i switched it back to the default and i still received voicemails...
Bottom line, it's working now.
I hope this helps someone.
I am not getting VM notifications after the latest android OS update. I have Samsung Galaxy S20FE

A few weeks ago, voicemail notifications do not appear on the green voicemail icon. If I click the icon, I don't see new voicemails. If I click the three dots and select refresh, new voicemails appear. What happened? Up to date Samsung S20FE.
Good afternoon,
It looks like I'm having the same issues a lot of other people are having... ever since January I am not receiving any kind of notifications on my phones of voicemails. Both my personal phone (a brand new S22) and my business phone (S20+). My wifes new S22 is the same. In fact I just missed an important call and it shows no voicemail until I physcially call my voicemail, enter my password, and then I found I had 10 voicelmails from the past week that I no idea about.
Need some help. I'm the Operations Manager over 200+ employees and I CAN'T be missing voicemails due to no notifications. Not good for business.
Thanks, Rod

I signed for Visual VM and it is working now. Hate to pay even $2.99. Had many interactions with Verizon 'pros' without any success. They are clueless and helpless. This issue should be escalated to engineering team, but I guess nobody from Verizon wants to own this issue. I am going to downgrade my VM service to the regular one and see what happens. Will go after Verizon very hard if I still have notification issue. Missid a lot of VMs dealing with Insurance and FEMA after hurricane Ian in Florida
Oh, no! We know how inconvenient missing voicemails can be, and we are so sorry that happened. Please follow and DM us so we can help.
Just about one month into service with Verizon after switching from AT&T because of continued issues with visual voicemail. From DAY 1 of service with Verizon, visual voicemail has not worked properly. I've made multiple calls about this, I've been in multiple online chats, I've attempted to go to the Verizon store (their early closures, refusal to help because "We are just a retail store. We sell phones; we don't provide support") has made it incredibly difficult to get this resolved. I've even posted messages in here, and have not received any response.
Whatever "fixes" are implemented are lost within 24 hours. I have not received voicemail messages because I am not getting notifications. I am not getting notifications because there is CLEARLY an issue with voicemail across the carriers and Samsung on the Galaxy phone lineup. Tech support says go to Samsung and Samsung says go to the carrier. Nobody wants to take ownership of this issue and find a way to permanently fix it. I am tired of having to refresh the voicemail everyday to get new messages. This is simply not how it is supposed to work.
Visual voicemail for me has been an issue with S21/S22 on AT&T and now the SAME issues on the S23 with Verizon. At this rate, if Samsung makes an S24 and I were to get that then it is very likely that I would have the same problem on that device.
Has there been any answers to this problem? I'm still not getting voicemail notifications. I am missing imoortant calls.
Any fix for this? I am still not getting voicemail notifications. Have been on the phone with verizon several times without a resolution.

My #Samsung Galaxy S20 is not getting a notification telling me that voicemail have been received. I have to go into my list of voicemail and refresh the screen and then they show up. This has been happening since January. I have called support and they were useless and blew away set ups all to no avail. They suggested a new phone! Help this is starting to be big problem.
Hello. Receiving all voicemail notification is vital, so as not to miss important messages. Thank you for your efforts in trying to resolve this over the last few months. To be sure, have the steps below been attempted?
*Andrea

I'm experiencing this same issue. It began on my s22 ultra after the update and when I switched to my s23 ultra it has still been an issue. This is not a setting but rather something that happened on an update. How have you not resolved this yet? Why am I paying for a service that doesn't work the way it should?
same problem on the S23+. I had it on the 22+ and changed phones since neither verizon or samsung would admit it was a problem but S23+ does the same thing. Have tried everything. Anyone get any answer to worked???
Verizon is suggesting.... "Have you attempted deleting the app's updates and then downloading it again? It might be an option to force refresh some of the settings. " Has anyone found this to help?
I have had a number of different people test and further confirmed what others have stated that this is specific to Samsung. Another interesting thing is that similar issue is found in other carriers' forums. The question is will both sides work together to get this figured out.
I see a lot of posts with Verizon asking to private message. Has anyone had any solution that worked through private messaging with Verizon? Based on this long thread of frustration, my guess is no. If there has, please post. I have done all that I have seen, such as setting Voicemail to unrestricted, turning off Power Savings, etc.
My request... like so many others have previously stated... please instead of having so many repeat similar steps via private messaging without success, work it here where we can all see what is being asked and many of us will be happy to test and report back, then the few testing can help the many save a ton of time and frustration. And I ask Verizon to please work with Samsung to solve this.

How does this work? Is Private Messaging an email?
Thanks
I am not getting VM notifications and I've talked with Verizon reps twice now and it's still not doing anything. I am missing lots of VM's that did not alert. Plus help!
Thank you
Hi AnneProspectComm! You are experiencing problems with your voicemail am I correct?
>Luis
I have gone round and round with tech support on this issue. I have a Galaxy S22 and I do not get voicemail notifications. I will clear cache and data from the visual voicemail app and it will work for a bit then it stops. This is very annoying and I am about to switch carriers if Verizon cannot solve this issue.
I'm having the same or a similar issue with my s22 ultra. The issue for me appears to be the Verizon voicemail app. It never updates and downloads new voicemails on its own. I have to remember to open the app and force it to sync before any new voicemails will be downloaded to my phone. If this app is also responsible for getting a notification on andriod that you have a new voicemail and not something within andriod then there is the problem we have been having for months. Update the app to fix this issue or at least tell it to sync in the background every so often if it's not getting push notifications.
I know the importance of getting this resolved, so you can receive notifications of voicemails being left. Please send us a Private Message, so we can look into this, because we definitely do not want to lose you as a family member,
*Lisa
Instead of working privately... I ask again that if there is a solution/fix that you please post here so we can all try so we can possibly resolve the issue. There has been a number of us that have tried the recommendations so far to find they either don't work or only work temporarily.

I am been suffering the same challenge that so many others have with Samsung Voicemail app not working correctly that has numerous other threads. There has been a number of suggestions with doing different things with respect to the Voicemail app.
Questions:
Thanks.
Having the same issue as everyone else here, Voicemail app stops notifying on new voicemails and does not show any new ones unless you manually Refresh from within the app. This is happening on multiple phones, all Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus. PLEASE PROVIDE A FIX!
Thank you!
If you need assistance, please send us a Private Note.

New customer for about a month now and STILL no properly working voicemail on the S23 Ultra. Clear cache/data, rebuild voicemail, remove and re-add the voicemail, turn the phone off for 2-3 minutes and turn it back on --- all done MULTIPLE times already and still I am required to open the voicemail app and refresh it to get messages. This is not how it should work.
S21 Ultra/S22 Ultra on AT&T -- voicemail issues. I left AT&T specifically because of this issue and came to Verizon
S23 Ultra on Verizon -- voicemail issues.
So, three Samsung Galaxy devices and two carriers and no solution. Absolutely unacceptable that the only "solution" is to just keep doing the same troubleshooting steps over and over again. Probably no point in leaving Verizon and going to T Mobile as the same issue will probably happen on their network.
What is it going to take to fix this?
Hi, I don't know if you fixed this yet...Verizon support drive me insane on this issue. They have no idea what to do and make your jump through pointless hoops to fix the problem and the solutions never work.
This is so so simple they should know this. It took me about 3 months to get fed up enough to spend almost an entire day figuring out the solution.
1. Go to phone settings
2. Scroll to apps - tap it
3. Scroll to voicemail - tap it
4. Scroll to battery - tap it
5. Check "unrestricted"
6. Done. Go back to whatever you were doing
You have to do this through the apps/voicemail settings.
If you just go to settings/battery and prevent it from going into deep sleep mode you'll still have the problem. I did that first. A few weeks later I figured out the unrestricted thing..
Good luck. I hope this solves it for all of you who landed here in frustration!
#voicemailnotifications, #notworking, #voicemailfix,
Just tried your suggestion and it works !! Did you just stumble across this by accident ?
What a strange bug. I have no idea why battery settings would have any effect on voicemail notifications.
Seems like Verizon needs more support people that have real software troubleshooting experience and not just reading off a troubleshooting tree.
I did that the first week of service. That was actually one of the things I had found as a solution from a Google search. It unfortunately hasn't done anything to resolve this ongoing issue.
Be aware that changing voicemail app to unrestricted and not having phone in powersave mode only helps when phone is on. If you power off your phone and have someone leave you message... when you power back up the phone you will see no indication of the call or the message until you go into the voicemail app and do a refresh. A second way you may finally see it is if you get a new voicemail while the phone is powered on. A number of people right this off as voicemail wasn't working awhile and now all of sudden they got all their voicemails, including old ones.
@Subquest That's not how the voicemail is supposed to work
I can have someone text me or send me an email and regardless of whether the phone is on or off, I get a notification and see the message. Why would voicemail be any different?
I used to get voicemail messages all the time when my phone was off. This has been an issue for quite some time across three galaxy phones and two carriers.
@cb_2367 So true and how many more pages and user complaining will it take to get this moved to a severity 1 and resolved.
On my own personal note.. I missed a message that a family member had ended up in the hospital . When I found out later, I hit refresh and then the phone number and voicemail appeared. The initial problem was due to powersave and unrestricted. To reduce the stress on the battery, I often power off the phone when charging. This is when I discovered that I was again being told messages were left I did not get. Once again did refresh and they appeared. Now every time I power up I go straight to voicemail app and do a refresh. We paid way too much for our phones and Verizon for this not to sync/refresh automatically.
Its shame to hear that, we definitely don't want to make you feel this way about our service, we work hard every day to provide you the best service, pleas private messahe me to better assist you.

@sparkgap63
Sorta stumbled on it...I was researching what to do about something else (forgot what now) and thought "hey I bet that would work for the voicemail!"
And yup it sure did. And yea what an obscure tucked away setting for something that should work out of the box. Lol
@Subquest
(I think that's who I am replying to - sorry if I'm wrong)
I'll have to check that. My phone is never off. It did die once though...I didn't think I'd survive that ordeal.
@ljhgeist If any confusion, my latest post was about trying to encourage Verizon to post required settings or any solutions in this thread and not have done through private message. Many have tried to work through private messages with only temporary success.
Definitely give it a try. Power off the phone and then have someone else call it and leave a message. Then power up your phone. At least with S21 phones, you will not see the call in recent. Then open the voicemail app... you will see no voicemail. Now do a manual refresh and you will now see the call in recent calls and the voicemail in the app.
I am also having this issue. Purchased phone in Dec 2023. Verizon please fix

can i get some help with this too?
My visual voicemail isn't working either. Always say it's encountered a problem. But not what the problem is or how to fix it
