Have you tried power cycling the phone to see if that corrects the issue? A battery pull also might help.

Oh dear, Free70. It's important that your phone is working properly. Were you using your device before this happened? Do you recall any changes to your phone, such as new applications? Is there any damage to the device?

I had the same problem today - screen black or extremely dim but on. I went into a very dark room on was able to see the screen well enough to get to settings. I then unchecked the automatic brightnedd button and it worked...at least for now.

I have the same problems my screen goes black and get very hot I took back to the store. They told live with it

I have this problem currently - no obvious resolutions so far. I have tried:

Remove reinsert battery, with the battery out for up to 10 minutes.

Factory reset - nothing appears on the screen when I try vol up, home, power button, even holding all for a minute.

I was using the device, I put it into standby (locked it? Just turned the screen off with the power button), put it in my pocket, took it out a minute later, pressed power and nothing (except my blue light is blinking and if I press the home button, the buttons to the right and left of it light up. Actually, the first couple of times I tried to activate the device, there were a few small green lines, about a cm long, parallel to each other, in a part of the screen. Now, nothing.

I can feel the phone start when I take the battery out and press power, but still no screen.

Of course, this is a replacement phone for my original, which also died of mysterious causes.

I keep my phone in a shock proof waterproof Otterbox at all times. This replacement phone runs my battery down much faster than the original as well.

Lets try to get this phone working again. Please clarify for us, is the phone completely non-responsive at this point? Does the screen ever turn on at all? Have you tried this: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-104036/
