Show suggestions while txting

When txting the "show suggestions" option is still working even after I have disabled it in settings. Is there another setting I'm missing to help disable that? It's getting rather annoying & I can't figure out how to fix it. Help!!

Did you change the setting for the input method to you are using? Different settings swype and android keyboard.

There are two different methods when typing. The methods are listed below.

Text Input Methods

Your phone offers two text input methods:

• Swype: Swype is a new text input method that allows you to enter

words by gliding your finger over the virtual QWERTY keyboard, lifting

your finger between words. You can also enable Word prediction,

which matches your key touches to common words.

• Android Keyboard: The Android Keyboard is a virtual QWERTY

keyboard that allows you to enter text by touching keys on the screen.

Android Keyboard includes predictive text, which matches your key

touches to common words so that you can select the word to enter it

into your text.

Changing the Input Method

When entering text, you can select the text input method.

Touch and hold on a text input field, then select an input

method:

• Swype

• Android keyboard

The OP was not asking how to change the input method but rather how to turn off the predictive text. The answerer you supplied was no help at all to the OP. Version needs to take a close look at who the have monitoring these forums because from what I can tell, most of the responses from the wireless employes are a joke and no help at all as shown in the above response.

The show suggestion option can be disable by completing the steps listed below:

1.Go to your settings and select language and keyboard.

2.Select Android keyboard (onscreen keyboard settings).

3. Then you will uncheck Show suggestions (display suggested words while typing).
