Swype Issues with 4.1.1

Ever since the update back in December, I've noticed that Swype takes awfully long to load up on my phone after I restart it. Sometimes it doesn't even work or messaging freezes. It's taken up to 5 minutes before I can actually send a text via Swype as opposed to the Samsung keyboard which I really don't like to use. Samsung keyboard works flawlessly and loads up right away with the phone but the Swype just doesn't want to work or doesn't work the same. Anyone else have a similar issue with it or could it be something wrong with my phone itself?

Hello.  I had the same problem and tried a few things.  Go to Settings, Application manager, slide over to "all" apps, scroll down to SWYPE.  Press "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache".  This will return SWYPE to its original state (like brand new - meaning dictionary not saved, defaults as they come).  Little bit of an annoyance but I have found that it fixes this problem, I can then go right back to using SWYPE as always with no more lag.

I don't know why this is, I just have found that it works for me.  Please try it and let me know if it works for you too?

I'm having the same problem. I HATE the samsung keyboard. I've been searching for 2 days. It seems to be a common problem and I haven't been able to find any information on a fix.

Oh my goodness. It worked. Thank you for that tip. Never would have guessed to do that.

I'm glad, I love using SWYPE and its tough to get used to anything else.  You will find after some time you may have to do it over again (I do every so often as it starts acting up).  I tried just clearing the cache, but that by itself didn't work.  As long as it works and I can use it, I'm happy Smiley Happy
