I recently dropped and cracked my phone slightly. Not any major damage done. However, since then I have had terrible signal strength and can rarely use my phone to make a call. Why is this?

Because the drop could have caused internal damage.
The resonance from the drop may have caused little physical damage but it could have damaged internal parts.
This happens when you drop a radio or even a walkie talkie it just is unseen damage.
