When sending a text with a receipt requested, what is the difference between "Delivered" and "Sent"?
Only messages sent to Verizon Wireless customers will have the Delivered note.
Sent means you sent it. Doesn't always mean it was delivered. Delivered means their phone got it.

While your answer does make sense logically and linguistically, I am
finding the opposite to usually be true, in that all the messages marked
SENT are being seen by the recipients, but only SOME of the ones marked
DELIVERED are being seen by the recipients. But it's not consistent, so I'm
still unclear as to the criteria involved to label one message as SENT and
another one DELIVERED.
