Text Notifications

I switched from Messages+ to Messages on my Galaxy S5. Now my whole screen lights up instead just my notification light. How do I fix that?

Let's get you back in control of your messages, LMH1975. Are you looking to switch back to Message ? While in Messages press Menu and then Settings to review the available notification options through this app. Please keep me updated as I am happy to help further!

Hi,

I was able to switch back to Message, but now when I get a text my whole screen lights up showing I have a text message, instead of just the LED indicator light. I have spoken with someone from tech support, we have checked and unchecked everything possible, but it still doesn't work. I follow directions people suggest online, which is everything I am trying anyway. Nothing seems to work as if it is faulty. It worked before when i had Messages+. I finally had to turn off notifications all add a third party text notification for the vibration and one for the led indicator. But I have no way of turning on a sound indicator. Please help.

Thanks for those details. When you say you switched back to Messages does that mean you went back to using the Messaging app that was preinstalled on the phone when you first got it or a different messaging app? Some apps, such as Messages , allow you to customize the notifications settings more than others.
